Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Meridian Clinical Laboratories services, including our website at meridian-labs.com, our patient portal, and our diagnostic testing services. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services Provided
Meridian Clinical Laboratories, a division of Amadeo Medical Limited, provides diagnostic blood testing services across 4 locations in Kingston and St. Catherine, Jamaica. We collect blood samples, process them through our laboratory using Mindray automated analyzers, and deliver results to patients via our secure patient portal. We are not a general medical practice and do not provide diagnosis, treatment, or ongoing medical care.
2. No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Using Meridian Clinical Laboratories does not create a doctor-patient relationship. The AI-generated result explanations provided through our patient portal are for informational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice. You should always consult a qualified healthcare provider to discuss your results and determine any appropriate course of action.
3. AI Result Explanations
Our AI system provides plain-English explanations of your test results. These explanations:
- Are intended to help you understand your results, not to provide a medical diagnosis
- Should not be used as the sole basis for any health decision
- May be redirected to a "please consult your provider" message for certain sensitive or critical results
- Are generated by an automated system and reviewed for accuracy but may not account for your full medical history
4. Patient Portal
Your patient portal account is personal to you. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential and not sharing it with others
- Maintaining the security of your two-factor authentication device
- Notifying us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised
- All activity that occurs under your account
5. Accuracy of Results
We use certified Mindray laboratory analyzers and qualified medical technologists to process all samples. However, no laboratory test is 100% accurate. Some tests may produce false positive or false negative results. If you have concerns about your results, please consult a healthcare provider and consider retesting.
5A. Laboratory Information System
Our internal laboratory workflow is managed by a commercial Laboratory Information System (LIS). The patient portal you access is a separate system that receives finalised results from the LIS. We are not responsible for delays caused by LIS maintenance or updates. Result delivery times stated on our website are estimates, not guarantees.
6. Payment and Refunds
Payment for services is due at the time of service. We accept cash and major cards. Refunds may be considered in cases of laboratory error โ contact us at info@meridian-labs.com within 14 days of your appointment.
7. Cancellations and No-Shows
If you book an appointment and cannot attend, please notify us at least 2 hours in advance via WhatsApp or phone. Repeated no-shows may result in a booking fee for future appointments.
8. Communications
By registering with Meridian Clinical Laboratories or booking a test, you consent to receive communications from us via WhatsApp and email. These communications will include appointment confirmations, result notifications, and follow-up reminders. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
No test results or protected health information will be included in WhatsApp or email messages โ only a secure link to your patient portal.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Jamaican law, Meridian Clinical Laboratories shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or reliance on AI result explanations. Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Jamaica.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of our services after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
