MERIDIAN CLINICAL LABORATORIES — PATIENT PORTAL TERMS OF USE & DISCLAIMER

By accessing the Meridian Clinical Laboratories Patient Portal ("Portal"), you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Nature of Service

This Portal provides electronic access to your laboratory test results and AI-generated interpretations. It is provided as a convenience and does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. AI-Generated Explanations

The plain-language explanations provided by our AI assistant ("Karen") are for informational purposes only. They are not medical diagnoses, medical advice, or treatment recommendations. AI explanations may contain errors or oversimplifications. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any health decisions based on your results.

3. Wellness Suggestions

Any general wellness tips provided (such as dietary or lifestyle suggestions) are general information only and are not personalised medical recommendations. Individual health needs vary. Consult your healthcare provider before making changes to your diet, exercise, or health routine.

4. Data Transmission Risks

While we use encryption and security measures to protect your data, no electronic transmission or storage system is 100% secure. By using this Portal, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of transmitting personal health information electronically, including but not limited to unauthorised access, data breaches, or interception during transmission. Meridian Clinical Laboratories shall not be held liable for any data breach or unauthorised access that occurs despite reasonable security measures.

5. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Do not share your password or allow others to access your portal session. Log out after each session, especially on shared devices.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meridian Clinical Laboratories, its staff, affiliates, and technology partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from: (a) your use of or inability to use this Portal; (b) any inaccuracy in AI-generated explanations; (c) any unauthorised access to your health data; or (d) any decisions made based on information provided through this Portal.

7. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Jamaica, including the Data Protection Act, 2020. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Jamaica.

8. Changes to Terms

Meridian Clinical Laboratories reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Portal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. You will be prompted to re-accept if material changes are made.
